Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency in London is seeking a SEND Class Teacher (Non-QTS) for a full-time, permanent post at a school in Hammersmith. The role involves delivering the non-specialist curriculum, supporting EHCP outcomes and adapting teaching for diverse needs.

You will work with Teaching Assistants and specialists to provide a consistent, ambitious learning experience, with coaching from qualified colleagues and Headteacher guidance. QTS is not required, with professional development provided.

Qualifications

• Successful experience teaching or leading learning with children or young people.
• Demonstrable teaching competence and secure subject knowledge.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess effective learning.
• A good understanding of SEND, adaptive teaching, communication, emotional regulation and reasonable adjustments.
• Strong safeguarding awareness and sound professional judgement.
• Ability to work collaboratively and respond positively to professional guidance and feedback.
• A commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day teaching, learning and pastoral provision of a small class.
• Plan, deliver and assess engaging, inclusive lessons using the school's curriculum frameworks.
• Understand pupils' individual strengths, starting points, EHCP outcomes and communication needs.
• Adapt teaching and learning to support a range of SEND profiles and individual learning needs.
• Lead and deploy the class Teaching Assistant effectively.
• Monitor, record and evidence pupil progress, attendance, interventions and agreed pastoral actions.
• Work collaboratively with specialist teachers, families and external professionals.
• Maintain a calm, consistent and positive classroom environment.
• Follow safeguarding, behaviour, attendance, equality, online-safety and health-and-safety procedures.
• Recognise, record and report safeguarding concerns promptly in line with DSL/DDSL procedures.
• Participate in coaching, professional development, moderation, learning walks and curriculum reviews.
