Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a SEND/Class Teacher for a full-time, permanent role in a London setting.

You will lead a small class, delivering non-QTS-based teaching with structured guidance and a focus on meaningful progress toward individual goals and EHCP outcomes. You will collaborate with Teaching Assistants, specialist staff and families to provide a consistent learning experience, adapting the curriculum to diverse learner needs and ensuring safeguarding and professional

Qualifications

• Proven teaching experience or lead learning with children or young people.
• Strong knowledge of SEND and inclusive teaching approaches.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess effective learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day teaching, learning and pastoral provision of a small class.
• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons using the school’s curriculum frameworks.
• Understand pupils' strengths, starting points, EHCP outcomes and communication needs.
• Adapt teaching to support SEND profiles and individual learning needs.
• Lead and deploy the class Teaching Assistant effectively.
• Monitor, record and evidence pupil progress, attendance and interventions.
• Work with specialists, families and external professionals to support pupils.
• Maintain a calm, positive classroom environment.
• Follow safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and health-and-safety procedures.
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly per DSL/DDSL procedures.
• Participate in coaching, professional development and curriculum reviews.
• These responsibilities reflect the role without adding extraneous duties.
