Job summary

Leicestershire County Council's SEND Assessment Service is seeking a dedicated SENA Case Manager to oversee a caseload of children and young people, ensuring timely statutory assessment, planning and review in line with SEND legislation.

You will work with families, schools and partner agencies to coordinate assessments, draft high-quality EHCPs, attend Annual Reviews and support placement decisions while maintaining accurate records and safeguarding duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEND, education, social care or related field with NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience managing or contributing to casework with children and families.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with families.
• Ability to analyse information to support clear decision making.
• Good organizational skills to meet statutory deadlines.
• Proficiency with IT systems and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children with SEND, delivering statutory assessment and planning.
• Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and Draft EHCPs.
• Analyse advice from professionals alongside views of children and families.
• Collaborate with parents, schools and agencies for effective communication.
• Attend Annual Reviews and progress recommendations.
• Contribute to placement decisions and funding requests.
• Prepare casework documentation for SEND Panels.
• Support safeguarding by working with partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and use IT systems for case management.
