Job summary

Consortium Trust – Riverwalk School, Warren School, seeks a dedicated Careers Advisor to support students with SEND develop futures. Permanent role across Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft; 30 hours/week, 39 weeks/year, 9:00–15:30, Monday to Friday, starting October 2026.

You will provide personalised guidance, help create meaningful career plans, and work with employers, colleges and training providers to tailor work experiences to each student’s needs.

Qualifications

  • Grade C/4+ level of Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Has a basic level of computer literacy.
  • SEND experience (preferable).
  • A careers guidance qualification (e.g. Level 4 or Level 6 CEIAG) is desirable but not essential, we welcome applicants who are willing to work towards this qualification with our support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support and develop meaningful and achievable career plans for students.
  • Ensure each young person’s voice is central to the guidance process.
  • Collaborate with employers, colleges, and training providers to create engaging workplace experiences tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Support ongoing training and professional development for staff and maintain safeguarding protocols.

Education

Grade C/4+ level of Numeracy and Literacy
Basic computer literacy
SEND experience (preferable)
Careers guidance qualification (Level 4/6 CEIAG) desirable
