Job summary

Bishop Burton College is seeking a Careers Advisor to support students in exploring opportunities and making informed decisions about their futures. The role is term-time only, ~37 hours per week, with days and hours that align with college scheduling.

You could come from CEIAG, education, employability, youth work or related backgrounds, bringing real-world insight to help students realise their potential and navigate options.

Qualifications

  • Experience in CEIAG or related careers guidance roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide careers guidance to students to help them understand opportunities and pathways.
  • Support students to make informed decisions about their future and progression.

Job description

Term Time Only, 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Are you passionate about helping young people make informed decisions about their future and want to inspire the next generation to achieve their career ambitions.

You may already be working in careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) or you could be an experienced professional with transferrable skills and experience. Either way, you enjoy supporting others to explore opportunities, overcome barriers and achieve their goals.

We know that some of the very best Careers Advisors come from a wide range of professional backgrounds. If you have experience working in education, guidance services, employability, training, youth work, student support or a related field, we'd love to hear from you. Your real-world knowledge and insight are invaluable, helping students understand the opportunities available to them and make confident decisions about their future.

You could currently be:
  • Working as a Careers Advisor, Employability Advisor or Guidance Practitioner within education or training.
  • Supporting young people or adults through progression, employability,training or student support services and looking for a new challenge.
  • Working in a customer-focused or advisory role and looking to move into a career where you can make a meaningful difference to people's lives.
  • Seeking a career where you can combine your professional experience with supporting students to achieve their aspirations.

At Bishop Burton College, you’ll join a supportive Student Services team delivering high-quality careers education, advice and guidance. Working with curriculum teams, employers and education providers, you’ll help students achieve their future goals.

Whether you’re an experienced Careers Advisor or starting your journey, we’ll support your development, including achieving your Level 4 CEIAG qualification if required, while making a real difference to young people’s futures.
