Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work across Stowmarket and surrounding areas. The role offers day-to-day cover or long-term placements, with flexible scheduling to fit personal commitments and school calendars.
You will support pupils with complex needs, implement learning plans under the guidance of teachers, and contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom. A DBS update service check is preferred, and training opportunities are provided.
Are you a compassionate, resilient individual looking for a rewarding role where you can make a tangible difference? Whether you are an experienced specialist seeking absolute flexibility on a day-to-day basis or you are looking for the stability of a dedicated long-term placement, we offer professional opportunities tailored to your requirements.
We are currently partnering with a variety of established Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools, alternative provisions, and specialist inclusion units throughout Stowmarket and the surrounding areas. We are seeking committed, proactive Teaching Assistants to support pupils with diverse and complex learning needs.
This framework is ideal for experienced SEN practitioners, psychology graduates looking to build field hours, or mainstream learning support assistants aiming to transition their skills into a dedicated specialist environment.
Day-to-Day Cover: Maintain complete autonomy over your professional calendar. Select your working days on a weekly basis to seamlessly accommodate personal commitments, academic studies, or lifestyle preferences. This route offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to different specialist settings.
Long-Term Opportunities: For educators seeking contractual continuity, we manage fixed-term assignments spanning a term or a full academic year (covering maternity leave, long-term absence, or interim vacancies). This allows you to integrate fully into a local specialist team and build deep, impactful relationships with the pupils you support.
Proven experience supporting children or young adults with complex needs, such as ASC (Autism Spectrum Conditions), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), ADHD, or Severe/Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD).
A calm, empathetic, and highly resilient approach to behaviour management and pupil engagement.
The ability to support individualised learning plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
Familiarity with alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton) or specific physical intervention training (e.g., Team-Teach) is highly advantageous but not essential.
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete a new check).
Competitive daily rates of pay, processed weekly and reflective of your experience level.
A streamlined, professional booking process that operates strictly in alignment with your declared availability.
Access to fully funded CPD training modules, including statutory safeguarding updates and specialist SEN resources.
Dedicated support from an industry-specialist consultant with comprehensive market knowledge of the Suffolk SEND education sector.

We are strictly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All candidates will be required to undergo comprehensive vetting, reference checks, and an enhanced DBS disclosure.
