GSL Education Kent seeks a dedicated SEND Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEND in a Tonbridge specialist school. You will deliver tailored behavioural support, build positive relationships and help pupils regulate emotions to enable confident engagement in learning.

Ideal candidates may have experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant or Graduate, with a passion for SEND. The role is long-term, full-time, on-site in Tonbridge, Kent, with daily pay determined by experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people in education or support roles.
• Understanding of behaviour management and SEND challenges.
• Patient, empathetic, resilient and confident in handling challenging behaviour.
• Ability to build positive relationships and trust with pupils.
• Calm, consistent and proactive approach to emotional regulation and behaviour.
• Commitment to developing independence, confidence and learning habits.
• Willing to work with colleagues and follow support plans.

Responsabilités

• Provide tailored behavioural and emotional support to pupils with SEND.
• Help develop positive behaviour, emotional regulation and coping strategies.
• Support pupils in managing challenging situations with calm approaches.
• Build trusting relationships to encourage engagement and independence.
• Support individuals and small groups with learning activities and social development.
• Encourage positive choices and appropriate communication.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote consistent strategies.
• Maintain a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
