Job summary

SAIL Academy, Salisbury is seeking a SEND Teacher to join our specialist provision for pupils with Autism and SEND. You will deliver personalised lessons and work with therapists, staff and families to support academic and social progress.

The successful candidate will have QTS, autism/SEND experience and a track record of raising pupil achievement, with a passion for inclusive education within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has experience teaching pupils with Autism and/or SEND.
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of autism-friendly teaching approaches and intervention strategies.
• Has a proven track record of raising pupil achievement and engagement.
• Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for every learner.
• Communicates effectively with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Brings energy, resilience, creativity and a positive outlook to their work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
• Use autism enablement strategies to maximise engagement, independence and achievement.
• Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, implementing interventions where required.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and academy leaders.
• Build positive relationships with families and external professionals.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Support pupils' academic, emotional and social development.
