Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a SEND Team Manager to jointly lead the development of our Multi-Agency Alternative Education Team. You will support children and young people as they access alternative provision and work towards returning to school.

This role is ideal for a manager who is passionate about inclusion and dedicated to helping vulnerable children attend school, belong, achieve and thrive in their local communities.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in SEND, education, health, or social care.
• Significant experience in managing teams and leading projects within a multi-agency context.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation (Children and Families Act 2014; SEND Code of Practice).
• Proven ability to use data to drive decision-making and improve service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Multi-Agency Alternative Education Team to ensure effective support for children and young people.
• Collaborate with schools, families, and external agencies to create a seamless support network.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of children in alternative provision.
• Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and best practices.
• Develop strategies to promote inclusion and improve educational outcomes.
