Cowes Enterprise College, An Ormiston Academy, is seeking an experienced SENCo to lead inclusion and SEND strategy. You will ensure every student with additional needs is known, understood and supported to flourish—academically and personally—within a supportive, high-challenge environment.

You will guide staff using the graduated approach and liaise with parents and external bodies. Ideal candidates will have extensive secondary teaching experience, leadership history, and deep knowledge of the

Qualifications

• Extensive secondary teaching experience.
• Leadership experience with proven record of raising student achievement.
• Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, the EHCP process and SEMH.
• Experience of leading and developing teams, including teaching assistants.
• Strong communication, emotional intelligence and resilience.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate inclusion and SEND provision to meet each student’s needs.
• Shape SEND policy in collaboration with the Principal, Vice-Principal and Trust.
• Provide staff training on the graduated approach and act as a point of contact for parents, carers, LA and external agencies.
