Job summary

Warwick Academy in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated SENCO to lead the school’s SEND provision and strategy. You will work with staff, parents and external agencies to implement inclusive practices and raise achievement for all pupils.

The role emphasises collaboration with the senior leadership team, management of EHCPs, and ongoing professional development in SEND. A commitment to safeguarding and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience working with pupils with SEND.
• Holds or is willing to work towards the NPQ for SENCO (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision and policy.
• Coordinate identification, assessment, and support of pupils with SEND.
• Monitor and evaluate pupil progress and impact of interventions.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure inclusive classroom practice.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to staff on SEND strategies.
• Liaise with parents/carers to support pupil development.
• Work with external agencies (e.g. educational psychologists, therapists).
• Oversee EHCP processes, reviews, and documentation.
• Manage SEND resources and deployment of support staff.
• Ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
