Salary: Inner London Mainscale to UPS with a TLR

Do you have the vision and leadership skills to make a real difference to the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school, which incorporates a well-established SEND provision, is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join our team.

About the Role

As SENCO, you will:

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
  • Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to develop and implement effective strategies for children with additional needs.
  • Oversee Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
  • Provide support, training, and guidance to teaching staff to promote inclusive practices throughout the school.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and evaluate the school's SEND policy and ensure it aligns with the school's vision.
  • which provides for pupils with autism and severe learning disabilities and / or significant social and emotional difficulties.
  • They will need to work effectively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and wider school teams to demonstrate and articulate the school vision and values in day-to-day practice.
  • They will also be fulfilling the SENCo responsibilities for the Campus.

Requirements for SENCO role;

  • A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND.
  • SEND Experience
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or a commitment to achieving it within 3 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity within the school community.
  • They will be expected to assist the Head of School in the oversight of the day to day running of our Campus
  • Experience in a SEND school, in particular, working with children with autism and severe learning disabilities is necessary.
