Role Highlights

  • Lead and manage the school's SEN provision, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices for teaching and supporting SEN students, fostering a culture of inclusion within the school.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEN, using data to inform interventions and support strategies.
  • Facilitate regular communication with parents and caregivers to ensure they are engaged in their child's learning journey and understand the support available.


Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (such as the National Award for SEN Coordination).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive practices in education.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with students and families, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of decision-making.
  • A clear DBS check is required to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
