Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced SENCO to lead EOTAS provision and shape educational pathways for children and young people with SEND across the SENA Service. The role focuses on high-quality EOTAS/alternative provision, transitions to Post-16, and EHCP outcomes.

You will work with schools, providers and families to develop inclusive pathways, monitor progress and drive service improvements over a 12-month fixed term.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status and the National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent SENCO qualification).
• Significant experience supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive practice.
• Experience working collaboratively across services and with external partners.
• Excellent assessment, planning and quality assurance skills.
• Ability to influence, challenge and support professionals to improve outcomes.
• Commitment to ensuring every child receives the right support at the right time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop EOTAS provision across Leicestershire.
• Collaborate with schools, providers, colleges and professionals to create educational pathways for SEND.
• Support learners through transitions, including Post-16 education and training.
• Quality assure Alternative Provision and EOTAS packages to ensure high-quality provision.
• Monitor learners without a school placement or those educated outside a traditional setting.
• Champion inclusive practice and ensure EHCP outcomes are met.
• Work with families and professionals to improve outcomes and progression opportunities.
• Contribute to service development and ongoing improvements of EOTAS pathways.
