Job summary

Oasis Academy Don Valley is seeking a passionate SENCO to shape SEND provision across the academy, working with the Principal, senior leaders, staff and external agencies. You will drive an ambitious, inclusive SEND vision and oversee both strategic development and day-to-day delivery, ensuring statutory requirements are met and personalised support is provided to pupils with diverse needs.

You will build strong partnerships, monitor provision rigorously and empower colleagues through training.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Willingness to work towards the National SENCO Award.
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Highly organised, empathetic and resilient; ability to inspire colleagues.
• Deep commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development and delivery of SEND provision across the academy.
• Coordinate high-quality, personalised support for pupils with diverse needs.
• Monitor, evaluate and refine provision to maximise impact of interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to ensure joined-up support.
• Influence provision at classroom level whilst contributing to whole-school improvement and safeguarding.
