Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting a SENCO for Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) within the SENA Service. The role focuses on developing educational pathways for children and young people with SEND, including transitions into Post-16 education and training.

You will quality assure EOTAS and Alternative Provision, collaborate with families, schools and providers, and lead improvements across Leicestershire’s SEN provision to meet EHCP outcomes.

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong assessment, planning and quality assurance skills.
• Experience working across services and with external partners.
• Ability to influence, challenge and support professionals to improve outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop EOTAS provision across Leicestershire.
• Collaborate with SENA colleagues, schools, providers and colleges.
• Support learners through transitions including Post-16.
• Quality assure Alternative Provision and EOTAS packages.
• Monitor learners without a school placement and adjust provisions.
• Champion inclusive practice and align with EHCP outcomes.
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.
