Job description

Career Teacher are seeking to appoint qualified and experienced SENCO who are ideally looking for long-term or permanent work from September 2025 or sooner, to work in secondary schools in Birmingham and surrounding areas. We are extremely busy with requests from our schools and can offer the flexibility to work around you, as we offer short and long-term cover roles as well as permanent opportunities.

About the Role

As a SENCO, you will:

  • Lead and oversee the SEND provision across the school.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support students with additional needs.
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on SEND best practices.
  • Advocate for inclusive teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • A strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in coordinating SEND provision within a school setting
