Engage Education is recruiting passionate Youth & Behaviour Mentors to work in a specialist SEN school in Manchester. You will support pupils with emotions, behaviour and engagement, helping them develop learning skills in a safe, structured environment.

Qualifications

• A patient, empathetic and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond positively to changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
• Supporting young people with SEN, including autism (ASC), ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Using positive behaviour management strategies to encourage appropriate choices.
• Helping pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, confidence and social skills.
• Supporting pupils during periods of dysregulation with de-escalation techniques.
• Acting as a positive role model and promoting respect.
• Working with teachers and school staff to implement individual behaviour support plans.
• Encouraging attendance, engagement and participation in learning.
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.
