Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting confident Behaviour Mentors to support pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs across Manchester and surrounding areas. You will work with teachers and pastoral staff to provide guidance, help emotional regulation, and encourage positive engagement in school routines.

Ideal candidates have recent UK school experience, a calm and consistent approach, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Recent UK-based school experience supporting pupils with behavioural, SEMH or SEND needs within the last two years.
Calm, confident and consistent approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Committed to safeguarding and helping pupils achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with behavioural or emotional difficulties.
Building positive relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
Help pupils recognise triggers and develop strategies to manage their emotions.
Support agreed behaviour plans and positive reinforcement approaches.
Encourage pupils to engage with classroom learning and routines.
Support transitions, breaktimes and situations requiring guidance.
Help children develop communication, conflict-resolution and social skills.
Use de-escalation strategies in line with school policies and training.
Record observations and share feedback with staff.
Follow safeguarding procedures and promote a safe, inclusive environment.
