Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking dedicated SEN Specialist Tutors to provide personalised, one-to-one outreach tuition to secondary learners across Wiltshire, from Year 7 to GCSE. You will support students who face barriers to mainstream education due to SEND, school anxiety, or other challenges.

The role focuses on Maths and English teaching, with Science at GCSE as a desirable extra. Tuition is typically 10–15 hours per student weekly, delivered in homes or community settings, and tailored to EHCP

Qualifications

Experience teaching Maths and English to secondary students (Year 7–GCSE).
Minimum of two years' experience with SEN/SEND learners.
Enhanced DBS required or willingness to obtain one.
Able to adapt to learners with anxiety or disengagement.
Excellent communication with families and schools.

Responsibilities

Deliver one-to-one outreach tuition to secondary learners (Year 7–GCSE).
Teach Maths and English confidently across the secondary age range.
Assess learning needs and identify gaps in knowledge.
Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes.
Adapt teaching methods for different SEND profiles.
Support learners to meet EHCP targets and curriculum goals.
Help students prepare for GCSEs and relevant exams.
Build trusting relationships with learners facing barriers to education.
Monitor progress and maintain records of learning and achievement.
Provide feedback to parents, carers, schools and professionals.
Collaborate with families and other professionals involved in the learner's education.
