Job summary

Randstad Student Support in Doncaster is seeking a SEN Tutor to support pupils with special educational needs. You will deliver 1:1 or small group sessions, following EHCP objectives, and help students build confidence and achievement.

The role offers flexible hours (part-time or full-time) with options for online or in-person tuition, and access to free e-learning modules. DBS via Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Candidates with SEN experience or prior work with disengaged youth or in alternative provisions are preferred.
• Strong IT skills and reliable online connectivity are required for online sessions.
• DBS via Update Service is highly desirable or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 or small group tuition (up to 1:6).
• Plan lessons aligned with EHCP objectives and student interests.
• Track progress and record attainment using the internal reporting system.
• Collaborate with schools, foster carers, and social workers to support the pupil holistically.
• Follow safeguarding guidelines and KCSIE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Who are we looking for?

Essential Qualities

• At least 6 months of experience working with SEN, disengaged youth, or within alternative provisions.
• The ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy.
• Strong IT competency (laptop/computer access and stable broadband for online sessions).
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to acquire one).
• An inspirational communication style that motivates and encourages students.
