Job summary

Young Giants in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking passionate tutors to deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition to learners with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH. Sessions run during the day at learners' homes or local community venues on fixed timetables.

You will use engaging approaches, build trust, and support each learner on their personal journey. Requirements include at least 2 years’ SEN teaching experience, safeguarding, Enhanced DBS, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience teaching SEN learners.
• Relevant and up-to-date curriculum and subject knowledge.
• The ability to combine mentoring and academics, building trust and supporting each learner on their personal journey.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and willingness to complete mandatory training.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to travel to learner locations.
• Dedication to making a long-term difference in learners' lives.
• Compassion, patience and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition sessions to learners with SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH).
• Use creative, engaging educational approaches tailored to each learner’s interests.
