Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting experienced SEN Tutors to provide 1:1 tuition in Maths and English across Lancashire, from KS1 to KS4, in community settings or pupil homes with safeguarding in place.

The role supports vulnerable pupils with SEN/SEMH needs and requires patience, flexibility, and a creative approach to re-engage learners. Start ASAP; approx. 10–20 hours per week; pay £25–£30 per hour; ongoing, part-time, flexible contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience working with pupils with SEN/SEMH in the UK.
• Experience teaching Maths and English within the UK curriculum.
• QTS desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Ability to travel locally across Lancashire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 sessions in Maths and English.
• Adapt teaching to individual pupil needs and abilities.
• Help learners regain confidence and close knowledge gaps.
• Provide progress updates and feedback where appropriate.
