Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting experienced SEN Tutors to deliver 1:1 Maths and English tutoring for pupils across Cumbria, from KS1 to KS4. The role supports vulnerable learners with SEN/SEMH and requires patience, flexibility and creativity to re-engage students in learning.

Location is Lancashire, in community settings or pupils' homes with safeguarding in place. Part-time, ongoing hours (10–20 weekly), term-time only, £25–£30 per hour, ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience working with pupils with SEN/SEMH in the UK.
• Experience teaching/tutoring Maths and English within the UK curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• QTS desirable, though strong SEN/tuition backgrounds will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition in Maths and English (KS1–KS4).
• Plan and deliver tailored sessions to re-engage learners.
• Support pupils to regain confidence, close knowledge gaps and make progress.
• Follow safeguarding measures in community settings or pupils' homes.
