Job summary

Blossom Children Homes & Schools is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and providing essential academic and welfare support to individuals and small groups.

Responsibilities include supporting learning tasks, monitoring pupil progress, and assisting in SEN planning towards EHCP outcomes in a setting that values safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Qualifications

  • Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Caring, patient and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Resilient, adaptable and able to remain positive in a dynamic environment.
  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is flexible and enthusiastic about supporting learning in a variety of ways.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Support the teacher with learning tasks and interventions.
  • Support pupils' social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist with eating, dressing and hygiene where required.
  • Provide cover and assistance throughout the school day.
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain positive, constructive working relationships with pupils and colleagues.
