Job summary

Kingsland CofE Academy in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a dedicated individual to provide classroom cover for up to 3 days during short-term absence, with specialist support to the teacher and pupils, including those with additional needs.

Based in the Crystal SEN Provision, you will build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues, contributing to inclusive practice while safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to support children with special educational needs (SEND).
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Patient, flexible, and committed to inclusive practice.
• Share high expectations and aspirations for every child.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning activities for individuals and groups under direction of a teacher.
• Assess, record and report on development and attainment as agreed with the teacher.
• Monitor pupil responses and learning achievements and raise concerns with the teacher.
• Plan and evaluate specialist learning activities with the teacher.
• Support pupils in social and emotional wellbeing and assist with class supervision.
• Provide specialist support to pupils with SEND or language needs as required.
• Assist SENCO with planning and contributing to individual development plans and reviews.
• Promote safeguarding and welfare of children in line with academy policy.
