Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking caring SEN Learning Support Assistants to work in supportive Wimbledon schools. Flexible supply work or long-term positions are available across SW19.

You will support pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language needs, delivering 1:1 and small group assistance while supporting learning and emotional wellbeing. DBS checks are required; competitive rates offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Patience, resilience, and nurturing demeanor.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to stay calm and adaptable in varied situations.
• Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support inside and outside the classroom.
• Support pupils' learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
• Assist in implementing behaviour and support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to monitor pupil progress.
• Work with pupils with SEN including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language needs.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language needs

• Helping to implement behaviour and support strategies
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to support pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in schools, care, youth work, tutoring, coaching, or similar settings
• Is patient, resilient, and nurturing
• Has excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• Is able to remain calm and adaptable in a variety of situations
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
