If you’re passionate about making a difference and feel that you could help encourage, motivate, and support children with additional needs to reach their full potential, then this SEN Teaching Assistant role is for you!
A Special Needs School located just outside of Trowbridge is looking for a caring and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team of staff on a full-time basis starting in September. The school supports children with various additional needs, including Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, lower cognitive abilities, and complex learning needs. Therefore, if you are patient, understanding, and up for a challenge, you will be perfect for this role.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your daily duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher, providing one-to-one support for students, helping run engaging lessons to create a fun and positive learning environment, managing challenging behavior, and encouraging students to make positive choices.
Experience working with children or vulnerable adults would be helpful, whether professional or personal (e.g., having a family member with additional needs). A relevant degree, such as Psychology or Criminology, would be desirable, but passion and enthusiasm are the most important qualities.
