Job summary

Reed Education is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist setting in Kidderminster, supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties and additional complex needs. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to create a safe, engaging learning environment where every achievement is recognised.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access activities and routines, promoting independence, communication and wellbeing, and providing

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or adults with additional needs.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
• A genuine desire to support children to achieve their goals and develop independence.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist children with Severe Learning Difficulties and additional complex needs.
• Help pupils access learning activities and classroom routines.
• Promote independence, communication and life skills.
• Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide personal care support where required.
• Encourage and celebrate every stage of pupil progress and achievement.
