Location: Mansfield
Salary Range: £90 - £110 (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming school based in Mansfield. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of a dedicated team supporting children with a range of additional needs.

Role Overview

You will play a crucial role in supporting children with SEN, working closely with class teachers and pupils to promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive lessons tailored to individual education plans.
  • Provide a nurturing, structured environment that helps pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
  • Assist in behaviour regulation and emotional support for students with complex needs.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback and adapting support strategies as required.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and resilience through positive reinforcement.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working in a school or care setting supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Sound understanding of SEN strategies, particularly in managing behaviours and supporting communication needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with students with a range of complex needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
