Job summary

SEN Teaching Assistant role in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, is a full-time position within a welcoming school; temporary to permanent options may apply. You will assist with pupils with diverse SEN, contributing to confidence, learning, and independence.

You will work alongside teachers and the SEN team, supporting EHCPs and IEPs while promoting inclusive practice and safeguarding per KCSIE guidelines. This role offers meaningful daily impact in a caring school community.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Ability to adapt activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Willingness to follow safeguarding policies and KCSIE guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Support delivery of IEPs and EHCPs.
  • Assist pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language needs.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet pupil needs and promote engagement.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Support safeguarding and personal care when required.
  • Create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils during lessons, breaks, trips and activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to achieve outcomes.
