Job summary

Vetro Recruitment seeks an experienced Teaching Assistant for an ongoing role in Aberdare. The ideal candidate will support learners with ASD, Global Delay Disorder, PDA and challenging behaviour, assisting before, during and after lessons, and helping staff prepare classrooms.

This full-time post requires a minimum of three months experience in schools, EWC registration, an enhanced DBS, and the right to work in the UK; references from the last two years are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings.
• SEN experience is beneficial.
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• References covering the last two years (no gaps).
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or challenging behaviour.
• Assisting learners at the start and end of the school day.
• Helping staff prepare classrooms for lessons.
• Working with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
• Supporting the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher.
• Assisting learners during break times and lunchtimes.
• Engaging learners in classroom and out-of-classroom activities.
• Following the school's behaviour management policies.
