Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Gateshead to start ASAP on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on the lives, progress and development of young people.

• The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Gateshead.
• The School supports pupils aged 4-16 and there are opportunities to support pupils across all year groups depending on your preference and specialism.
• The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Hours – Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.

About the Role:

• The role involves supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• The School supports pupils with varying SEN and challenging behaviour, aged 11-16. Roles are available to support pupils across this age range depending on your preference, experience, and skill set.
• Some pupils may be non-verbal and some may require Personal Care; willingness to support pupils in these contexts is essential.
• Developing an understanding of different needs and learning styles of pupils, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues, is a key part of the role.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
• UK Driving Licence and access to a car (desired)
• Experience working with children in UK schools
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
• Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
