SEN Teaching Assistant - Speech and Language for a Primary School

Start Date: September 2024

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have experience or an interest in speech and language development? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in speech and language support.

About the Role:
  • Support students with communication difficulties through one-on-one and small group interventions
  • Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • Collaborate with teachers and professionals to monitor progress and adapt support strategies
  • Develop speech and language skills through targeted activities
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with speech and language difficulties (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting learning and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn
