Job summary

Academics is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEN across East Sussex. You could work with students who have Autism, Speech & Language needs, SEMH, ADHD and other learning difficulties, either in small groups or one-to-one within specialist bases or mainstream settings.

Ideal candidates have prior experience with children or young people, a genuine interest in SEN, calm and patient demeanour, strong communication, and the ability to build positive relationships.

• Support pupils with autism, speech and language needs, social communication needs, ADHD, sensory needs, learning difficulties and SEMH
• Work with pupils in small groups or one-to-one in specialist or mainstream settings
• Contribute to enabling pupils to access wider activities within school environments

Salary: £93-£110 per day, depending on experience

Academics are working with a number of mainstream primary and secondary schools across East Sussex that have dedicated specialist SEN provisions, and we're looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join their teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to develop their SEN experience while working within a supportive school environment.

The role

You could be supporting pupils with:

• Autism / ASD
• Speech and Language Needs
• Social Communication Needs
• ADHD
• Sensory needs
• Learning difficulties

• EHCPs
• Behavioural and emotional needsDepending on the school, you may work within a small specialist base, supporting pupils individually or in small groups before helping them access wider mainstream activities where appropriate.
