Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a SEND unit in Wythenshawe. You will work with pupils with SLCN, ASD, and non-verbal needs, providing structured, nurturing assistance to access learning.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, collaboration with speech and language professionals, and using visual aids and basic sign support to aid communication and learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SLCN/ASD and non-verbal needs.
• Able to use visual aids and basic sign support.
• Experience in SEN or communication-focused settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SLCN, ASD, and non-verbal needs
• Supporting learning and engagement using adapted resources
• Working closely with speech and language therapists and the school SENDCO
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and communication skills
• Maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment
