Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Balsall Heath, Birmingham. You will join a supportive SEN hub and work with a small group of pupils to provide personalised learning and development support.

Ideal candidates have Level 3 Early Years, paediatric First Aid, and experience with Autism and complex needs. The role offers Monday to Friday, with early finish on Fridays at 12:30pm, and opportunities to make a meaningful impact on children's lives.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential.
  • Paediatric or Emergency First Aid certification is required.
  • Experience in an Early Years setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, especially Autism.
  • Confident with personal care where required.
  • Calm, nurturing, patient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.
  • Genuine passion for helping children with SEND.

Responsibilities

  • Support a small group of pupils within the Resource Base.
  • Work with the class teacher and specialists to deliver personalised learning.
  • Provide tailored support to meet individual goals.
  • Assist with personal care when required.
  • Contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
