Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd. in Telford is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with EHCPs in mainstream classrooms and a specialist provision.

This role involves working with pupils with Autism, SLCN and SEMH needs to help them reach their full potential, often on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You will collaborate with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals, adapting activities to individual needs.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
• Experience supporting SEN in a school or similar setting.
• Understanding of ASD, SLCN and/or SEMH needs.
• Patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with EHCPs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Work across classroom and specialist provision settings.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, communication and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, SEND staff and external professionals.
