Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Barnet from September 2026. The role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism and other learning needs, and adapting activities to meet individual targets.

You will work with teachers, therapists and other SEN professionals to implement EHCP targets in a structured, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Experience with ASD or complex learning needs is desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and communication needs.
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Support independently by following EHCP targets and plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and SEN professionals.
• Help maintain a structured, positive learning environment.
• Assist with behaviour management and inclusion.
