Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant in Handsworth, Birmingham. You will provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support across the school, focusing on learners with ASC, ADHD and SLCN to help them access learning.

The role requires delivering literacy and communication interventions, using visual prompts and routines to promote independence, and supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour while following EHCP targets.

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • Previous experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN.
  • Experience with autism, ADHD, SLCN or SEMH is highly desirable.
  • Confident supporting emotional regulation and behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group SEN support across the school.
  • Helping pupils with ASC, ADHD and communication needs access classroom learning.
  • Delivering targeted literacy, communication and social-development interventions.
  • Using visual prompts, routines and individual strategies to develop independence.
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
