Job summary

Supply Staff Ltd is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs in primary schools around Weston-super-Mare. The role is full-time long term (five days a week) with daily pay of £100–£110.

You will provide individual and small-group support, assist teachers in adapting activities, and help pupils develop communication, social and learning skills. Experience with SEN is desirable and safeguarding knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in an educational or childcare setting.
• SEN experience is desirable.
• A patient, understanding and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or SEN are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist teachers in adapting classroom activities to support different learning abilities.
• Help pupils develop communication, social and learning skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and support pupil wellbeing.
