Job summary

Protocol Education are recruiting an enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Stanmore, North West London. You will work with class teachers and the SEN team to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, including 1:1 and small-group help.

We seek patient, empathetic and reliable candidates who can build positive relationships and contribute to an inclusive learning environment. Full-time and long-term, with competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about working with children and supporting their development.
  • Patient, empathetic and nurturing.
  • Confident working with children with additional needs.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Reliable, proactive and adaptable.
  • Strong communicator and team player.
  • Experience working with SEN is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Support children in learning and classroom activities.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Implement individual support strategies and learning plans.
  • Support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other staff.
  • Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
