Job summary

Polaris Children's Services - Barraclough School in Huddersfield is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 7–18, working full-time term-time only. You will assist classrooms, monitor progress, and help with planning and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Previous Teaching Assistant experience in a school.
• Experience working with SEMH in education.
• Willing to undergo DBS check before starting.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (≤6).
• Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupil progress and liaise with staff.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom prep.
• Set work and mark where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes.
