Job summary

Polaris Community in Huddersfield is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join Polaris Children's Services - Barraclough School on a full-time, term-time-only basis. Salary £21,257–£23,232.69 with benefits including Company Pension, Life Assurance and Employee Discount Scheme.

The successful candidate will mentor pupils, assist teaching staff, monitor progress and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment that promotes achievement and engagement.

Qualifications

• Must have GCSE English and Maths (C or above) or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Willing to undergo Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to six.
• Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time including trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set work where appropriate and mark.
