Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly two-form entry primary school in Croydon.

You will support children with SEND, including autism and communication needs, both individually and in small groups, building trust and promoting calm, nurturing learning.

Working with teachers and the SENCO, you will implement individual support plans, adapt activities, and help every child access learning and develop independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND and inclusive practice.
• Experience with autism, communication and interaction needs, social/emotional needs and sensory needs.
• Ability to work individually and in small groups.
• Able to build trusting relationships and maintain a calm, nurturing approach.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to new SEN provision.

Responsibilities

• Support children with SEND in 1:1 and small group settings.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals.
• Help develop independence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
