Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to help establish a brand-new SEN provision in Croydon. You will work with the class teacher, SENCO and support staff to enable pupils with additional needs to access learning and develop communication and independence.

The role is full-time and on-site, offering a daily rate of £100-£150 depending on experience. A nurturing, patient approach and safeguarding commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role.
• Experience supporting children with SEN in primary settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and manage challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils within the SEN provision and mainstream classrooms where appropriate.
• Assist pupils with accessing the curriculum and developing communication/social skills.
• Support behaviour and emotional regulation within a calm, inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to observations, progress monitoring and record keeping.
