Job summary

The Newhampton Federation is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term basis. Grade 4 SCP6 to SCP 7 depending on qualifications, £13.92 to £14.14 per hour, 30 hours per week, term time only.

Hours are 8:45am–3:15pm, Monday to Friday. Fixed term until 31 August 2027 with potential re-evaluation thereafter. Closing date 31 October 2026; interviews week of 2 November 2026; start date to be confirmed.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to primarily work with and support identified pupils with specific additional needs. The successful applicant must love working with children, be able to embrace challenge and relish being part of a team who are passionate about making a difference.

The right candidate will be positive, patient and adaptable; building on their existing knowledge and skills to work collaboratively with our dedicated staff team to support a specific child.

We can offer you a full-time, fixed-term position initially until August 31st 2027. From this point the position would be re-evaluated with the prospect of continuing into the next academic year.
