Aspire People is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 2 to 21 with autism, SEMH and learning disabilities in Yardley, Birmingham. You will work within a specialist setting as part of a supportive team to enable learning and well-being.

Requirements include minimum 6 months SEND experience, in-date Team Teach/MAPA/CPI interventions, and a calm, patient approach. Desirable qualifications in education or childcare are a plus.

  • Team Teach/MAPA/CPI Interventions - must hold an in-date certificate.
  • Calm, empathetic, patient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.

  • Proactive, flexible mindset and genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to pupils with ASD, MLD and complex needs, in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Support development of social skills, confidence and independence in learners.
  • Provide personal care and support for students with learning/physical disabilities.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Supporting SEN Students in Yardley

Location: Yardley, Birmingham

Hours: Full-time/Part-time

Contract: Long-term/Permanent/Temporary

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 2 to 21 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges, and alongside some learning disabilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team in a specialist setting in Yardley, Birmingham where every day is different, and every small success counts.

About the Role:
