Job summary

Christ Church Primary School and Nursery in Burton on Trent is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant with SEN expertise to join our supportive team. You will work under the guidance of teachers to support learning in the classroom and, when needed, supervise short-term cover.

You will contribute to Individual Education, Behaviour and Support plans, support planning and assessment, provide pastoral support, and help develop pupils' confidence with ICT. DBS enhanced check will be required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning.
• Experience working with children with additional needs and communication challenges.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to adapt support to diverse pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Support learning in the classroom under teacher guidance and supervise short-term cover when required.
• Deliver structured support for pupils, contributing to IEP/Behaviour and Support plans and guided reading.
• Support planning, assessment and accurate recording of pupil progress.
• Provide pastoral support and assist with pupils' personal needs, first aid and wellbeing.
• Assist with visits and extracurricular activities and help run out-of-class provision.
• Use ICT to support learning and develop pupil confidence with technology.
• Encourage resilience, independence and high standards of behaviour.
