Job summary

Heatherlands Primary School in Poole seeks a Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to support pupils within our specialist SEN provision, a whole class, or in small groups, or on a 1:1 basis.

The role is 30 hours per week, term-time (39 weeks), with a pro rata salary of £18,639–£20,076 per annum. Starting October 2026, permanent appointment.

Applicants should have English and Maths GCSE at grade C or above and be able to motivate children, foster good behaviour, and support learning across contexts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a school-based TA.
• Experience supporting SEND learners.
• Ability to promote independent learning.

Responsibilities

• Support SEND learners and work within SEN provision.
• Assist with whole-class, small-group, and 1:1 teaching as required.
• Promote high standards of behaviour and engagement.
